Temple nightclub (TempleSF.com ) San Francisco California Thursday June 25, 2009. Urban Umpires plans an event just shy of a music festival bringing together internationally established artists including but not limited to: Dilated Peoples, Opio, Casual, Phesto, & Pep Love (from the legendary Hieroglyphics crew), Azeem, Z-Man, Rasco, Bored Stiff, Luner Heights, Homeliss Derilex, Amad Jamal, J Boogie and many more to be announced. All of the acts will be performing with intention of giving 100% of all proceeds directly to DJ RasCue. Since being officially placed on the US Kidney transplant list RasCue has faced many challenges physically and financially and though those involved know this one event will not be enough we hope to provide as much aid to him as possible as well as bring awareness to the millions of individuals in need of organ transplant and the importance of organ donation. “Finding myself in this position so young I have really taken time to examine and fully appreciate, and cherish my life.” Says RasCue ”…but perhaps more importantly I have learned how much it can really mean to a person when someone chooses organ donation.” Along with having this benefit Urban Umpires will be creating a documentary showcasing the benefit and events surrounding it in an attempt to create further awareness worldwide about these most important issues. We anticipate that the last Thursday in June will be a memorable event for music lovers and an opportunity to indulge in a whole lot of fun while supporting an important cause.
