At the Oakland/Los Angeles Oscar Grant Town Hall held at the Kaos Network the night before Johannes Mehserle's second court hearing in Los Angeles, speakers addressed the murder of Oscar Grant, the broader issue of police violence against African Americans and other people of color across the United States, and the growing alliances for justice being formed amongst community activists in Los Angeles, Oakland, and beyond.
Speakers included JR Valrey of Block Report Radio and the SF BayView; Kenneth & Cephus Johnson, uncles of Oscar Grant; Jack Bryson, father of two of Oscar Grant's friends; Fred Hampton Jr, Chairman of the POCC and son of Black Panther Fred Hampton; Dedon Kamathi of Freedom Now on KPFK; Minister Keith Muhammad of the Nation of Islam; Keishia Brunston, aunt of Deandre Brunston, murdered by LA Sheriff's deputies in 2003; Hank Jones & Ray Boudreaux of the SF8, and SFSU student Erika Walker. The final half hour of the Town Hall was opened up to community members in attendance to speak to the issues raised earlier and to relate their own experiences.

Your current web browser must be updated to version 7 of Internet Explorer (IE7) to take advantage of all of template's capabilities.
Why should I upgrade to Internet Explorer 7? Microsoft has redesigned Internet Explorer from the ground up, with better security, new capabilities, and a whole new interface. Many changes resulted from the feedback of millions of users who tested prerelease versions of the new browser.
The most compelling reason to upgrade is the improved security. The Internet of today is not the Internet of five years ago. There are dangers that simply didn't exist back in 2001, when Internet Explorer 6 was released to the world. Internet Explorer 7 makes surfing the web fundamentally safer by offering greater protection against viruses, spyware, and other online risks.
